SAFE * RESPECTFUL * RESPONSIBLE
What is PBIS?PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. PBIS is based on the idea that when students are taught clearly defined behavior expectations most students will meet those expectations. Just as we teach students reading skills we teach them behavior skills. Lead-Deadwood Elementary expects students to be safe, respectful and responsible throughout the school and community. The link below is a list of our specific expectations.
REWARDING GOOD BEHAVIORDigger Dollars: these coins are given out daily by school staff when they see students being safe, respectful, and/or responsible.
Digger of the Week: random classroom drawing to recognize one student per classroom at our Tuesday assembly Digger of the Month: One student from each grade is selected each month for outstanding representation of our school expectations. The student is recognized at the Tuesday assembly, with posters, letters home, and recognition in the local paper. |
